Chocolate Apple Cake

Chocolate Apple Cake

Ingredients :
1 cup apples, chopped and peeled
1/4 cup cocoa
1/4 cup applesauce
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup water

Preparation :
1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
2. Spray a square pan with nonstick spray.
3. In a bowl, combine the flour, whole wheat flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt.
4. In another bowl, combine the lemon juice, vanilla, oil and water.
5. Add to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
6. Toss the apples with sugar and cinnamon, fold into the batter.
7. Pour into the prepared pan.
8. Bake for about 30-35 minutes (or until done).

Servings: 9
